Five Days in the North

This 5-day itinerary takes you on a journey through Vietnam's cultural and natural wonders. From the bustling streets of Hanoi to the serene beauty of Ha Long Bay, each day is filled with unique experiences. Let's explore what each day has in store for you:

Day 1: Greetings from Vietnam

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, our guide and driver will greet you and take you to your hotel in the city center.

After a 40-minute drive, you will arrive at the hotel and can proceed with the check-in process.

Please note that the standard hotel check-in time is 14:00, and check-out time is 12:00.

Day 2: Hanoi - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc/Trang An - Mua Cave

Breakfast, Lunch/Dinner


07:30 - 08:00: Your tour guide and driver will collect you from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter for the journey to Ninh Binh.

09:15: A brief 15 - 20 minute break will be provided for stretching, restroom use, or a quick snack.

10:30: Discover Hoa Lu, Vietnam's ancient capital from 968 to 1010. Explore the Temple of Dinh King and Le King to learn about Vietnamese history during the Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasties.

11:15 - 11:45: Engage in a 30-minute cycling experience to immerse in local life, or relax at the restaurant while enjoying the scenic surroundings of the lake, waterfall, and valleys.

12:00: Indulge in a buffet lunch showcasing local delicacies at our Trang An Heritage Garden, with vegetarian choices available.

13:15 - 13:30:

Option 1: Embark on a 1.5-hour boat trip along the Ngo Dong River at Tam Coc, often likened to “Halong Bay on land.” Explore the charming paddy fields, limestone karst formations, and captivating caves like Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba.

Option 2: Explore Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. Enjoy a 1.5-hour boat journey to admire its tunnel cave system, famously featured in the 2016 movie “Kong: Skull Island.”

15:30: Visit Mua Cave, where you will ascend 500 steps to the mountain top for a panoramic view of the city and Tam Coc below.

17:00: Return to Trang An Heritage Garden by minivan.

17:30: Check in to your accommodation and, during the summer, take a refreshing swim in the pool.

19:00 - 19:30: Enjoy dinner at the restaurant and spend the night at Tam Coc or Trang An.


Day 3: Tam Coc/Trang An - Ha Long Bay

06:15 - 06:30: Check out of your room and have a light breakfast.

07:00: Get picked up by the driver for the transfer to Halong Bay, which will take approximately 3.5-4 hours.

11:15 - 11:30: Upon arrival at Tuan Chau Harbour, our crew will welcome you at Tuan Chau International Port, assist with check-in on the boat, and provide a welcome drink.

12:00 - 13:15: Indulge in a buffet lunch on the boat at a luxurious restaurant on the cruise showcasing special seafood of Ha Long, while cruising past the most picturesque spots in Ha Long Bay such as Stone Dog, Stone Incense Burner, and The Kissing Rocks.

13:30 - 14:15: Explore Sung Sot Cave, one of the most magnificent and largest caves in Ha Long Bay, with the guidance of the tour guide.

14:30 - 15:15: Discover Luon Cave either by kayaking or by sitting on a bamboo boat rowed by local residents.

15:30 - 16:30: Take in the breathtaking view of Ha Long Bay from the summit of Titov Island, swim at Titov Beach, or unwind in the Jacuzzi on the boat.

16:45: Participate in a sunset party with an array of complimentary fruits, cakes, juices, and tea as the cruise sails back to Tuan Chau Port.

17:45 - 18:00: Return to the harbor and board a comfortable limousine for the trip back to Hanoi.

20:30 - 20:45: Reach your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter as the limousine drops you off.


Day 4: Hanoi City Tour

8:00 - 8:30: Begin your exploration of Hanoi City with a friendly guide who will pick you up.

8:45: Arrive at Tran Quoc Pagoda situated on Golden Fish Island in West Lake, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi dating back to the 6th century.

9:30: Head to the Ho Chi Minh complex to view the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh, stroll through the garden to see the two houses where he resided and worked from 1954 to 1969, and visit the unique One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy.

Remember to dress modestly by covering from shoulders to knees when visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, temples, and pagodas.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays and for at least two months (15th June - 15th August) annually for maintenance, but you can still take photos and explore the surrounding area.

11:15: Explore the Vietnam Ethnology Museum to discover the cultures of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Special Note: On Mondays, visit the Women's Museum instead of the Ethnology Museum.

12:45: Enjoy a Vietnamese cuisine lunch at our restaurant, featuring eight delicious dishes.

14:00 - 14:15: Proceed to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university founded in the 11th century.

15:15: Visit the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, originally used by French colonists for political prisoners and later by North Vietnam for U.S. prisoners of war during the Vietnam War, known to American POWs as the “Hanoi Hilton.”

16:15 - 16:30: Conclude the tour and return to your hotel.


Day 5: Depart from Hanoi

After breakfast, your personal chauffeur will be ready at the hotel to take you to Noi Bai International Airport. From there, you can catch your flight back home or continue your journey to explore more exciting destinations.
